Hazardous Material Abatement/ Remediation Design

Along with a written report detailing locations and methods in which to remove the hazardous materials, a set of CAD drawings will accompany to reinforce the data. Where necessary the review and approval of the specification /design documents by a Professional Engineer is also available.

Indoor Air Quality
Indoor Air Quality is a common concern in both the home and workplace. Indoor pollutants combined with a lack of adequate ventilation may contribute to an unhealthy living or working environment. Typical sources of contaminants include stoves and furnaces, furniture, newly installed building materials and microbial contamination.
MS Analytical is well qualified to assist in Indoor Air Quality Investigations. Typical sampling may include Temperature and Relative Humidity Readings, Carbon Dioxide Measurement, Volatile Organic Compound Sampling and Mold/Dust/Animal Dander Sampling. Additionally, our staff of professionals posses the skills needed to identify problem areas and create effective mitigation recommendations.
Radon is a naturally occurring gas that is produced from the decay of Radium which is found in other metal ore and various types of rock. Through the decay process Radon rises through the rock and eventually reaches the soil surface. Once above the surface Radon tends to accumulate in confined spaces most commonly basements or attics. Radon is a colorless, odorless, and tasteless gas and if gone undetected can cause some serious health effects. This is a direct link between radon gas and lung cancer and aside from smoking is the second most frequent cause.
The testing process is simple. A member of the MS Analytical team will assess your site and leave radon canisters inside to absorb any radon in the air, typically for a period of 48 hours. Once the appropriate time has passed we will collect the canisters and send them to an accredited laboratory to be analyzed for the quantity of radon present. A report will then be generated describing the findings. Since radon is a naturally occurring gas there are certain levels that are acceptable. However, if the levels do rise above the national action level we will assist in determining the correct actions to take.
Asbestos Project and Air Monitoring
With more certified Project Monitors and Air Sampling Technicians than any other firm in the area, MS Analytical offers these services independently or combined based on your need, any time day or night. Project and Air Monitors are not necessarily used on large scale renovation or demolition projects but to simply test for exposure or asbestos indoor air quality as well.
Our large scale goal is to ensure contractor work methods are designed and executed as to ensure the health and safety of building occupants. To achieve this, our project and air monitors will enforce all applicable regulation and pay close attention to work methods through all steps in the abatement process. As an independent third party we work directly for the building owner.
Keeping an open line of communication with the building owner or its representative, the abatement contractor and any other parties involved is essential in making sure the project remains on schedule and under budget. We always stress the importance of being proactive versus reactive.
Just as important we understand the building needs to continue to operate as needed to ensure production and will work to make sure the project doesn’t become overly invasive and burdensome. At any point in the process we are open to following client direction.
Upon completion of the, job MS Analytical will issue a report including air sampling chains of custody and results, daily project logs detailing works methods and any significant events, and clearance forms confirming all hazardous materials have been removed.
Lead-Based Paint Inspections/ Risk Assessment and Clearance Testing
Lead-Based Paint was readily available for both commercial and residential using during the majority of the 20th Century. Widely available until banned for residential use in 1978, Lead-Based Paint has caused a significant health and financial burden for those affected by its use. MS Analytical utilizes a portable Niton XLp Spectrum Analyzer for on-site analysis of surfaces covered with Lead-Based coatings. X-Ray Florescence (XRF) technology is capable of detecting Lead in paint and other surface coatings including those buried beneath Non-Lead coatings.

Mold/Microbial Contamination Inspections

Polychlorinated Biphenyls (PCBs) were widely used in caulking, paints, and as dielectric and coolant fluids, for example intransformers, capacitors, and electric motors. Due to PCBs' toxicity and classification as an organic pollutant, PCB production was banned by the United States Congress in 1979. Since then the presence of PCBs in building-related material is an emerging environmental health issue with concerns for all facilities, especially schools.
Through testing and remediation management, MS Analytical has helped clients resolve PCB contamination problems, turning a potential large scale concern into a more manageable solution.
PCM Laboratory Analysis
